Invest Glasgow / COP 26

Journey Productions was commissioned by Invest Glasgow to deliver a two-week photography project documenting the city’s major green initiatives during COP26 in November 2021. The shoot focused on capturing Glasgow’s commitment to sustainability, regeneration, and low-carbon development through a wide range of environmental and infrastructure projects across the city.

The project included photography of large-scale retrofit programmes involving high-rise and traditional tenement housing, as well as newly developed parks, nature reserves, and greener construction schemes. The resulting image library was used to promote Glasgow’s environmental ambitions and showcase the city’s investment in sustainable urban development during the international climate conference.

THE Queens Quay Heat Pump Energy Centre is providing low-carbon heating to the first phases of the £250 million Clydebank-based development. The £20 million project, delivered by Vital Energi on behalf of the local authority, will provide heating and hot water to the 23-hectare Queens Quay development which includes plans for 1,200 homes, businesses and public buildings.

The Necropolis is a Victorian garden cemetery full of wonderful architecture, sculpture and fascinating stories. Adjacent to Glasgow Cathedral, the Necropolis was modeled on Père-Lachaise in Paris. It is estimated that something in the order of 50,000 burials have taken place here, with around 3,500 tombs.
