Details & Info
Glasgow Requiem is a five-year interdisciplinary programme by Aproxima Arts exploring the city’s mediaeval origins, pre-industrial histories and founding mythologies through contemporary artistic practice. Spanning public ceremony, community archaeology, horticultural design, sound works, live performance, writing and participatory research, the programme reimagines Glasgow’s historic narratives through collective acts of remembrance, ritual and imagination.
Journey Productions were commissioned to produce two short films documenting the programme’s opening projects: Flower Memorial at Glasgow Necropolis and The Well at Glasgow Cathedral. Together, the films capture the evolving relationship between place, memory and community at the heart of Glasgow Requiem, foregrounding the programme’s blend of historical inquiry, artistic intervention and civic participation.
