First Hand – Benromach

D8 commissioned Journey Productions to create and edit a captivating series of short films for Benromach, bringing their story to life through the lens of craftsmanship and artistry. This project, titled Firsthand, celebrates the beauty, dedication, and rewards of handmade craftsmanship — a cornerstone of Benromach’s philosophy. By connecting with fans and artisans across the globe, Benromach shines a spotlight on the timeless appeal of things made with care and passion.

The Firsthand series featured a range of inspiring collaborations, including HØRD, a Yorkshire-based leather goods studio renowned for their meticulous craftsmanship and beautifully designed pieces; paper artist Helen Musselwhite, celebrated for her intricate hand-cut creations; and Ian McNicoll of Glasgow Print Studio, whose printmaking practice reflects a deep commitment to traditional techniques and contemporary creativity.

Together, these films explored the synergy between Benromach’s handcrafted single malt Scotch whisky and the artistry of its collaborators, weaving narratives that resonated with makers and enthusiasts alike.
