Take A Bow Opportunity Centre – Retrofit Project by O’DonnellBrown
Journey Productions was commissioned to capture the new Take A Bow Centre in action. Originally a 1970s community building that was no longer fit for purpose, the centre has been carefully retrofitted and reimagined for Take A Bow — a drama and community organisation with deep local roots.
Since the building was handed over in May, it’s been wonderful to see such a wide variety of groups using the space — from line dancing and toddler sessions to rehearsals and performances. The brief for the film was to show the building both in use and at rest, highlighting how the renewed spaces now support the full spectrum of community life.
We also spoke with the people at the heart of the organisation about their decision to save and repurpose their old building rather than demolish it, and about their hopes for securing its future and working with O’DonnellBrown from project inception through to completion.
